## What one license includes

- The recurring website-blocking schedule: days, hours, and websites
- System-level blocking in every browser, with no extension
- Blocks that keep running after you quit the app, sleep, or restart
- Menu bar status that shows when access returns
- The Raycast companion for checking status and editing the next schedule
- In-app updates, with no paid upgrades so far

Cactus runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It is downloaded directly from this site, signed and notarized by Apple.

## Why a one-time price

A blocker should be a decision you make once, not a bill you reconsider every month. Cactus has no servers to sync your schedule or store your history, so there is no ongoing cost to pass on to you.

Many popular blockers charge a yearly subscription. If you want to see how Cactus compares on price and features, read the [Mac website blocker comparisons](https://usecactus.app/compare).

## What Cactus does not do

So you know before you buy: Cactus blocks websites, not desktop apps. It has one recurring schedule, no manual focus sessions, no iPhone or Windows version, and no sync between Macs. A Mac administrator can still remove it. The [FAQ](https://usecactus.app/faq) covers the details.

## Pricing questions

### Is Cactus a subscription?

No. You pay $19.99 USD once. Checkout shows the final price and any tax before you pay.

### When does the free trial start?

When you first turn on a schedule, not when you download. The trial lasts seven days and needs no account, email, or card.

### What happens when the trial ends?

A block that is already running finishes normally. After that, you need a license to change the schedule or start new blocks.

### Who processes the payment?

Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout. Link handles the receipt, refunds, and sales tax. Cactus never sees your card.

### Are updates included?

Every update so far has been free for license holders and is offered inside the app, which asks before installing. A license does not expire. The Terms do not promise every future feature or macOS version.

### Can I get a refund?

Refunds go through Link under its consumer terms. EU and UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period; the Cancel a purchase page has the steps.
