Terms

These terms cover the Cactus macOS app and website. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026

About Cactus

Cactus is developed and operated by Maximo Garcia (also known as Maxi). Contact support@usecactus.app for product support.

Paid orders are offered at checkout as “Sold through Link.” Link is the merchant of record and provides checkout, transaction support, receipts, refunds, and indirect-tax handling under its own consumer terms. Cactus remains responsible for the app, its delivery, product description, quality, and product support.

What you are getting

Cactus is a directly distributed website blocker for macOS 14 or later. It creates recurring website-blocking schedules using a local helper approved through macOS. It does not currently block desktop apps, provide cloud sync or accounts, or promise that blocking is impossible to bypass. A Mac administrator can deliberately remove the app or helper.

The seven-day trial starts when you first turn on a schedule. No payment card or account is required for the trial. After the trial expires, a paid license is required to change the configuration or begin new scheduled blocks.

Purchase and license

Cactus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The checkout shows the final currency, price, and any applicable tax before you pay.

Cactus does not offer an additional voluntary change-of-mind guarantee. Purchases are Sold through Link, and Link’s consumer terms and refund process apply. If you are an EU or UK consumer, Link’s current terms give you a 14-day cooling-off period from receiving access to Cactus. Follow the cancellation instructions to use Link’s order-support flow or send Cactus a withdrawal notice. This does not limit rights you may have if Cactus is faulty, unavailable, or materially different from its description.

A lawful purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use Cactus. You may not publish or resell a license key, redistribute paid copies, claim Cactus as your own, or use the app unlawfully. These terms transfer no ownership of the Cactus software or brand.

You are responsible for keeping the license key or Stripe receipt needed for recovery. If recovery fails, contact product support.

After a full refund, or a payment dispute resolved in the buyer’s favor, future license activation and recovery for that purchase stop. Cactus stores activation locally, so this does not remotely disable a copy already activated on a Mac.

Your Mac and blocking

You must have a compatible Mac and macOS administrator access to approve the helper. Cactus uses network access for update checks and downloads, initial license activation and recovery, and feedback you choose to send. Browser, DNS, VPN, network, macOS, or administrator changes can affect blocking.

Cactus is a commitment aid, not a security product, parental-control guarantee, or promise of a particular productivity outcome. Check the visible Cactus status when uninterrupted blocking matters.

Updates and availability

We may provide fixes and updates, but we do not promise every future feature, perpetual compatibility with future macOS versions, or uninterrupted website and license services. We will not knowingly remove mandatory rights or a purchased license through a terms update.

Problems, warranties, and liability

If Cactus is faulty or materially different from its description, choose Send Feedback… from the Cactus menu to report what happened. You can optionally include diagnostics and an email address if you want a reply. You can also email support@usecactus.app. Do not send your license key. Your statutory rights to repair, replacement, price reduction, termination, refund, or damages are not limited by these terms.

To the extent the law allows, Cactus is provided without promises beyond its stated product description, and neither party is responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss. Nothing here excludes liability or a consumer guarantee that cannot legally be excluded.

Ending use and changes

You may stop using Cactus and remove it from its menu during an access window. Removal is unavailable while an active block is in progress; try again after access returns. Removal clears the local schedule, license status, helper, system changes, settings, and app. An eligible paid purchase remains recoverable from its Stripe receipt; a full refund or lost dispute ends future recovery. A license may be ended for a material breach of these terms, subject to applicable law. Terms changes apply prospectively from the date posted; material changes will be identified on this page.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections or court rights in your country of residence. Please contact support@usecactus.app first so we can try to resolve a product issue. The cancellation and complaints page identifies applicable out-of-court dispute routes.
